Hello , a friend of mine has sent me these service documents and wants to know if this chap was at home at the time his wife died in December 1st 1945 or was he away ? He married a Belgium lady in Brussels in September 1946 so maybe he was posted again after his wifes death ?
Sorry this is all I have.
    Regards

He was released from Army Service with the Royal Engineers on 2 February 1946 and then released to Army Reserve on 18 April 1946. Unless he re-enlisted, he would not have been in one of the Armed Services at the time he remarried in September 1946.

The records you provided show him serving in NW Europe (and at 8 Base APO - Army Post Office???) until 31 January 1946, so not at home.

No record of any leave taken has been provided...

I think that you need to look at the rest of his records. If I look at my father's versions of the two forms that you posted then they would indicate that he didn't have any leave, but his B 103 'Service and Casualty Form' shows that he did.

Would be good to see the rest of the service records - on my fathers it includes during his service when he married

So I would feel Steve Mac's line is thinking is correct, but seeing the rest of his record would definitely help
