Hindu Temple, Happy Valley, H.K., China - H.K. Hindu and Sikh Cremation Memorial - A Tribute

    This memorial commemorates Indian and Nepalese soldiers, of the Hong Kong Garrison, whose remains were cremated according to their faith during the First World War.

    Located at 1B Wong Nei Chung Road, Happy Valley, HK., the Temple grounds contains about 30 graves including the Hong Kong Hindu and Sikh Cremation Memorial, engraved with the names of 8 Hindu and Sikh soldiers and was unveiled in 1928. A 9th man, SADHU SINGH (2412), of the Royal Garrison Artillery, was recently identified and will have his name added to this memorial in due course.
