My Uncle-in-law served with the 69th Canadian Tank Transporter Company R.C.A.S.C. in NW Europe. He would return home on Xmas day, 1945, on the Queen Elizabeth and keep his menu as a souvenir. Shown below is the menu for this dinner.

Also please view the video of a Veteran as he speaks of this voyage and the Christmas dinner.

I recommend this video clip, as Sgt Gilford Boyd also recalls his experience with a Canadian Graves Concentration Unit in the recovery of Allied remains in NW Europe. Video at:

While researching I found a couple of photo’s of the 69th Canadian Tank Transporter Company, 1945. Thought I would post them here

Note in the first photo the two motorcycles have the Unit Serial number of 865 on their front and this is the assigned serial of 69 Tank Transporter Company. A Diamond T 980 12-Ton 6 x 4 Tractor Unit and with a M9 Rogers trailer (45-ton, 12-wheel (12dt) Trailer M9), the combination were then designated as the 'M19 Tank Transporter'.

The trucks in the photo below are 10-Ton 6 x 4 Mack Truck, and are probably vehicles driven by the 69th after they were converted from a Tank Transporter Company to a General Transport Company

And these two photo’s of 69th Tank Transporter Company were taken in Red Deer Alberta in 1942

Here are the vehicles from the Cdn Military Vehicle Data Book

The first vehicle is the Diamond T Tank Transporter

This vehicle is the second vehicle shown in my posts above, when the unit was converted to a General Transport Company…….the vehicle in the photo could be “either” of these two models of Mack:
    Lorry, 10-ton, 6x4, GS Mack NM 10-ton, 6x4, 201 wb Class 21
    Lorry, 10-ton, 6x6, GS Mack NR 10-ton, 6x6, 177 wb Class 21

but “I think” the vehicle is the 10 Ton, 6 x 6, GS Mack NR (first photo below)

My cousin has given me the OK to publish her father's name and additional photos from his collection.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, by Temujin, the 69th was converted to a General Transport Coy, from a Tank Transporter Coy, prior to landing in Normandy.
The following photos deal with transportation, include the hauling of coal, timber and potatoes.
In a future post I will attach personnel photos which name individuals.
Only two of the following photo's had descriptions, which I will repeat below the photo.

My Uncle, Cpl Leslie Jensen, RCASC, on his ride, which I believe to be a Harley-Davison.

Excellent photo’s……these confirm their trucks at that time were the second 10 Ton Mack 6 x 4 GS 201wb, that I posted information from the Canadian Army Vehicle Data book above

Thanks for comments, but they had a typo with his service number. It should read, for Leslie George Jensen, M101033.

Also further confirmation of a 10 ton rating truck rating is archived at

Found more pictures for you. This is from LAC Photo’s, Vol 31

These were taken in Aldershot, approx 20 Apr 1943. These are “thumbnail photo’s”, LAC should have the originals if you want them

The tanks are Canadian Made RAM tanks

The “markings” on some of the photos are “censure” OK’s (check mark) or Parts of the photo that can be published (by newspapers etc)
