How to get a Then & Now wrong.

    On holiday the other week I intended getting a Then & Now of the Grand Vallee near Hangest , where Rommel's lot formed up after crossing the Somme.

    Well anyway , located one end of the valley sucessfully .

    When I tried to take a Now off the Then, posted above, I thought I'd got the right place. Until I looked again.
    I thought it looked 'odd' when I took it.
    But convinced myslef I'd got right valley

    I got the wrong valley.
    If you look at the ATB book on page 468 you'll see another chalk scrape in the middle distance.
    That's the one I took & post just above.
    Oh well, better luck next time.

    Never mind mate, good photos. I will confess I found that area hard to read when I first went there.

    We did ok with some other Then & Nows from the Somme crossings, will post them soon.

    What'll be really depressing; is if you go back, stand in exactly the same place, turn 180 degrees and go 'ah'...

    Try and try again nice view what was the bird/wildlife like? Please post the others you did take.
