I have it on very good authority that my local sub-post office is in a building originally built during the war to house the PX for the American forces stationed locally. It is just a prefabricated structure and it is amazing that it has survived this long. This is the "Six Ways" post office and convenience store in Clevedon, Somerset. Do you know of any examples of wartime buildings which remain in use like this?
Hi angie yes i know of a meat shop thats housed in the pilots old rest room right in the corner of the old airfield perimeter at Bottisham Cambridge, base of the 361st Fg. U.S.A.F. In fact the buildings there are the only ones left from its ww2 days, together with a tiny piece of the concrete that served as the main gate. paul
