If you post his name and date of birth there is a chance someone could search and find his details.

    Regards,
    JJS.

His name is William Moore Gostling born 30th October 1924 and at the time he was in the army he was living in Epping Essex.
Thank you JJS for you help.

    Hi,

Can see a William Moore Gostling who married at Epping in 1947 to Amy M Long.

WW2 records for survivors are more difficult to get to. I think you have to apply to the MOD and they will only release to the next of kin, but other more experienced members will hopefully advise.

    Best of luck,
    JJS.

Thanks yes that is my father, anyone got an address for the MOD or the right place to send of for..? he past away in 1980 and my mum a year before that, am one of four sons that he had so I come under next of "kin" my older brother past away two years ago now and has made me think its time to put what I know about family together for my own son, out of the four sons four sisters my father had, I and my late brother are the only ones who can work a pc..!.
I would love to find out his regiment, No and so on, yesterday a photo that I got was identified has being taken in Groenplaats Antwerp Belgium at the end of the war, its always good to know a little more form people like yourself. My father never said much if anything about the war, and am sure he had his reasons and we were too young to think then that one day we would love to know.

You will have to pay the £30 fee.
If your Mum was still alive it would have been free for her to apply.

Thanks Owen, makes you think what is the point in filling in the "Application Part 1 Next Of Kin Form" don't it...!
Just like this government, if they make money out of you, they will...!
    All the very best...Anthony.

    Hello there
The £30 fee is WELL worth paying, believe me, you get so much information and the time it takes to get them is worth waiting for. Just make sure you apply for his FULL records. If you don't have his service number put his date of birth on the form.
