    Hello,
This is my first post on the community, I thank y’all for your help in advance!

I recently purchased this USMC lid and found matching laundry numbers on the inside of the liner and the chin strap:
    A-1215
I’m wondering if it’s possible to research and find who this M1 belonged to? I believe the ‘A’ is the first letter of the soldiers last name and the ‘1215’ is the last 4 digits of his SSN. The liner has been painted over but it has the word RAM at the front beneath which could be some clue. I’ve never researched laundry marks before so I’m grateful for any help!
