He's a lieutenent, right? I have some trouble ID-ing Russian ranks, but I try...

Yes, you're right ;) He's a lieutenant. I sometimes struggle myself to identify the ranks.

Two issues of the Order of the Red Banner (left breast), two Orders of the Great Patriotic War (poss. 1st and 2nd classes, or 2nd and 3rd) and Guards badge on the right.

A Party member of some standing to get the ORBs.

But is he 1st, 2nd, or 3rd lieutenent? I know there are these three 3rd being the lowest rank, and 1st the highest

Polak, Węgier, dwa bratanki, i do szabli, i do szklanki.
Lengyel, magyar – két jó barát, együtt harcol, s issza borát.
All this stands for this: The Pole and Hungarian two brothers, both with the saber, and with the glass.

The second line is in Hungarian, am I right? Because Polish I kind of understand, it being so alike with Russian and everything, I'm not that big on Hungarian though.

I have the flight sim of the Il-2 and the flying characteristics are apparently very accurate. I can confirm it is a b*tch to take-off & climb, seemingly heaps of torque but no real power - landing not too bad though. Manouvreability is also hopeless - a lot of anticipation required!

Affirmative, second line is in hungarian. It is not a real surprise that you are not good in hungarian if you didn't learn it... It has nothing to do with slavic languages...

 Yes. I just saw 'magyar' in the second line and went 'hey, wait a minute, that's Hungarian' :)

Well, the game being one of the best Russian ones on the market, I can say that those qualities only attribute to the realistic portrayal of the IL-2 flight experience.

For some reason most people know that one :D:D:p

Well, you can't blame me then, I guess  And 'barat' in Hungarian is agonisingly close to 'brat' in Russian - they both mean 'brother'. So it wasn't only magyar that gave it away :)
