Any further information would be appreciated.

Need assistance on Who/Where/What/How for this man who is on the Australian Commemorative Roll which is for those "Australians" who died in other Allied Services. If proved not to be "Australian" their names will not be removed from the Commemorative Roll however their details will be updated accordingly.

I have researched the Air Force members but there are many more Land and Sea deaths in a myriad of different forces.

There is not a lot of information on these people that can be accessed easily and I ask your assistance to fill in at least some of the gaps.

Hopefully some relatives may see this thread and add more.

I will make a different thread for each along the way as they may tend to get lost if clumped together.

Richard Herbert Saville was born 1887 in County Wicklow, Ireland, the son of Edward Saville and Martha Revell Joley Sherwood. Richard arrived in Australia on 17 September 1888 on board the Orizaba.

In 1915, in Victoria, he married my husband's relative (1st cousin twice removed), divorcee Alice Victoria Lewis, born Simkins, but married the first time using her step-father's surname: Considine. They divorced 1923.

In 1925, Richard married a fellow divorcee, Violet May Meliska, born Hill.

Found in his CWGC records, you can see the Doctor’s name that the article refers to…..also their was at least two “stewards” who died from this ship. Drury and Seville, so Seville must have been rescued seperately from Drury??

Thanks for that. I made an assumption there that I should not have. I just recalled some other articles I'd read, that said Herbert was injured the first air raid, but died afterwards at Port Moresby. So yes, this would be another steward rescued just before the ship sank, so after a later attack. Thanks for that. I shall amend his profile I have at WikiTree.

Morning Bulletin (Rockhampton, Qld) Tuesday 28 July 1942 - Page 4
:Captain J. Campbell, the master, who was injured, and 52 other survivors have reached an Australian port.
:The ship was hit and damaged on two successive days. On the first day, June 17, three men were killed and one was fatally injured. On June 18 five were killed out-right and one was fatally injured.
:A list of the killed is : ... H. Saville, a member of the crew, aged about 56, injured on the first day and who died later in Port Moresby

Yes, so Drury is certainly the one mentioned as fatally injured on the second day.

It looks like quite a few stewards were lost on that ship, including Saville
