Idler, that is brilliant, thank you. Interestingly, I had found a P.W. Parker, a scholar with an Australian connection arriving from New York around the time of the Great War in the Incoming Passenger Lists. I discarded it thinking that it was of no consequence but I will find it again. Simon.
I have a copy of the book which was bought by my father. He served in the FFR and was adjutant of the 14th Bn for some of its existence.
Brigadier P W Parker is shown on an Indian Army List (not seen personally) as the Kohat Brigade CO, November 1946. Kohat being a garrison town in North-West Frontier Province, which became Pakistan on 14/8/1947.
