Irvine Jebson, Royal Artillery & Frank Jebson, RAF

Discussion in 'Searching for Someone & Military Genealogy' started by Andrew Jacklin, May 16, 2020.

  1. My late Grandad Driver. Irvine Jebson from RA(Royal Artillery?) made it to the papers whilst he was on his way to Anzio following the Liberation of Rome. I have very little detail about Irvine sadly but hope to look out for more information, he survived the campaigns during his time serving.

  2. Hoping to find out more information about Irvine and his brother 'Frank Jebson' who was part of the RAF in West Africa.

    Hi, Andrew.
Split your query out to its own thread so it doesn't get buried.

    Good luck,

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum.

Your starting point ought to be to apply to U.K. MOD for the service records via this link -

Get a copy of military service records

You don’t need a service number - although it helps - as MOD will search on full name and DOB only.

There is very little WW2 individual soldier information freely available on the internet.

Once you have the service record you may need to return to the forum for assistance in interpreting the information it contains (much military shorthand and jargon) and for guidance in locating his unit war diaries so you can track his movements and activities.

    Good Luck

    Steve
