    On Friday I tweeted that Jacob only got three returned salutes at the Royal International Air Tattoo in 2018 and that at RIAT2019 he hoped to get more and could any Pilots please oblige. To say it all went a bit mental is an understatement. The RAF picked up on it and asked if they could meet Jacob and this is what happened....

    There now appears to be a challenge on twitter for units to send a photograph of them saluting called #SaluteForJacob

    Yes, they are a bit sloppy, but they're very skilled & entertaining pilots.

    Outstanding pilots indeed but, unlike the Americans, we Brits only salute with a hat on.

    Now if he needs saluting practice he could do worse than following a master at the art:

    He was on a live dispersal area with jet aircraft taxiing just behind us to the runway to display so no headdress allowed.

    I wonder how many 20ish year old video game veterans would look at those photos and wonder why the hand was being held palm out, cos they've never seen a salute like that on Call of Duty (Xbox or Playstation)...
