    Hi guys!

I was wondering if anyone had an idea if Kamikazes were launched fromthe Philippines. If so, where? I just need a bit of confirmation. Was it in Leyte? Manila?

And were there also Korean Kamikaze pilots aside from Japanese?

    Thank you very much.

    Plenty on Google.

The Philippines was where it all started in 1944.

This is a site on the Kamikazi (Shimpu) from both sides.

The inspiration for Kamikaze was pilot Masabumi Arima who tried to dive his aircraft into the USS Franklin (and missed). Vice Admiral Takijiro Ohnishi formed the first kamikaze unit in 1944.

This site discusses the errors in the History Channels DVD.
