I am struggling to find any information regarding L/Cpl 14215335 Richard Helps of the Royal Corps of Signals attached to the S.A.S. I know that he served in France 1944-45 and was in Norway in 1945. He was given an 'outstanding service' certificate for his service in France with the 21st Army Group. This does not seem to have counted as a Mention in Despatches, as I can find no mention in the London Gazette. I also have evidence that he parachuted in to France. It has been suggested that he may have taken part in GHQ Liaison Regiment (Phantom) operations but I have no evidence for this.

Any help to identify the operations that he took part in to warrant an outstanding service certificate would be welcome.

Hi H-W. Hopefully Asher will see this and be able to confirm whether he was F Squadron, GHQ Liaison (Att. SAS Brigade), or not. He's the expert on Phantom ...

I have emailed Asher at the address that he gives out regarding his book but, three days later it has been returned as undeliverable.

I have been informed that Richard Helps did not serve with Phantom but with SAS Brigade Signals.
