Moral is don't give up go back and have a look around when you get a chance.

Will do, it;s not far from home and a small cemetery, so a couple of hours next weekend should give me time to look at every headstone :)

    Ok, met my first hurdle.
As two men on the Bramhope memorial are buried in the local cemetery, I thought I'd nip up today and photograph the headstones, but could only find one.
The one I can't find is
William A Dobson Army Service Corps - I take he should have a commonwealth war grave headstone, the same as Arther Speight (attached) ?

    Hello

Not all have CWGC headstones there are many that are private.
Try to get a map of the cemetery, either from GWGC site /local council or sometimes the cemetery has a plan at the entrance.

Before you go back you can do a couple of things.
Mail CWGC stating that you are after the casualty "J Smith" copy the casualty details from CWGC and ask them for a reference point from a CWGC headstone that is near by.
They will mail you back as an example " J Smith 3 foot high grey marble private headstone Grave 78 plot G is directly 2 rows back from the CWGC Headstone of P Smith Grave 50 plot G "

    regards
    Clive

I've been thinking about doing this for ages so I'm glad someone else has taken it on. Good luck with it mate and feel free to use the Morley ones (pictures) I posted in dbf's thread on local war memorials. When its up and running I'll let you know if I come across any in Leeds not on their website. I drive past a few everyday in Leeds.
Cheers mate, I used a pic as a placeholder for Morley - will use others as I get around to it, saved me a journey :)
