Does anyone you know if a complete list of foreign (non-US) holders of the Legion of Merit exists? If so, who might have it? I'm interested to see (not sure which level of the award) was awarded to a British soldier during or just after WW2.

    Thanks

Thanks, this is a good start and of great interest. Don't see the name I'm looking for, but I wonder if the US government have a similar list of who they gave awards to.

What is the name of the British Soldier you are looking for?

David Joseph (later Major David Joseph), I understand that he initially joined the Second Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers, the City of London Battalion. He grew up in London and is of Polish decent. (not sure if Joseph was his birth last name).
