Here is a copy of the 4th Lincolns war diary. Both men were missing in action, presumed dead. Hope that helps. I visited and photographed the Lincolns graves at Oisterwijk (St. Peter) Roman Catholic Church Yard. Difficult to park as it would have been amazing to visit the church.

Thanks Deacs. As both men were reported MIA on the 6th October, I've posted the war diary pages from the 1st October 1944.

    Thank you for the info.
I now know they fell near Goirle, and Nieuwkerk. I know that area well. And found several signs of battle, metaldetecting.
Goirle is about 8 miles from Oisterwijk.
They would have fought with the Dutch Prinses Irene Brigade. Which also suffered a lot of casualties.
One of the brigades veterans lived in Oisterwijk. Mr. Hekker. Was his name.
He passed away a few years ago, but he always took extra care of the graves. and organized an remembrance in Oktober.
Seems we now know why. They fought together near Goirle.

If wounded they could have been send to Oisterwijk because There was a German fieldhospital just a cross of the St. Peter’s church where they are buried.
If you ever visit again, give me sign or contact the county of Oisterwijk. I can maybe show you some interesting spots.

    greetings
    Frank

Thank you for confirming what I thought, given the location and date of death. I am currently researching those who are commemorated on the Woodville war memorial and trying to establish their connection to Woodville.
