The son of Thomas & Arabella Ely of Kimpton and the husband of Muriel Ely of Fleet, Hampshire. He was a career soldier who was educated at Worksop college and at Sandhurst. He served in the army of occupation in Germany after the first world war and was later stationed at Quetta at the time of the great earthquake. He is buried in Enfidaville War Cemetery, Tunisia. His name is recorded on a local war memorial and I would like to know about his demise.
