I am trying to find out any information on Lt Quentin Milbourne Jackson and in which battle he died in. The information I have so far is that he is buried in Mosul/Iraq, he died at 38 and he was the son of Colonel H. Milbourne Jackson, formerly of the Royal Engineers, and Margaret Edith Maitland Jackson. He served in The Queen's Royal Regiment. I am curious as to what the battle was trying to achieve on the 10/03/1943, which was when he died and the days before his death. Many thanks Scott
As in your other thread I'll refer you here. http://www.queensroyalsurreys.org.uk/militia_vol_territorial/mvt11_1.htm Battalion went overseas in late 1942 for service in Iraq where they wintered at Kirkuk. I would suggest he died due to an accident or natural causes rather than enemy action.
I will agree with you on this one, as I have been doing research until 4am last night and I came across the same solution you did. That they rested at Kirkuk and started to make their way to Lybia, and along the way he was buried at Mosul, but I do no see any mention of any battles that they may of been in. Again, many thanks

Many thanks Scott I was left a copy of the "History of the Queens" by my Grandfather (his regiment). If you have any more info unit etc. I will have a look to see what if anything is mentioned about him. Regards Keith
All i know is that he was in the 2/5th BN of The Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey). That is pretty much all I can figure out so far, but as D Owen pointed out that just before the time he died, they were resting at Kirkuk/Iraq. It must of been on their way to Lybia (as i read on another web site) that he died and was buried in Mosul. So it may of not been a battle or possible died of past injuries. I would like to find out though. I hope the above information helps.

There is a handy little book available from the museum at Clandon entitled "The Queen's In The Middle East and North Africa 1939-43" It mentions the 2/5th,2/6th and 2/7th however there is no mention of this mans name! It does give an overview of what they were doing. send me your private email and I wil try and scan it for you.
