I'm having trouble posting pictures at the moment, but the victory parade with Churchill or Rommels arrival in Tripoli would make good subjects. (I'm loving the book btw)
Indeed, that would be a good subject. I recall that the IWM had quite some photos of this parade - will use them...

Sorry for late reply - I could not access the forum from Tripoli.... and therefore have not seen the pics above. Some of them can easily be taken as "then & now" but most of the buildings shown do not exist any more today. I have also been at the CWGC to take some photos of headstones for another member of this forum - the good news is: The cemetery is not damaged or even disturbed but very well maintained as it always was.
