LY / Libya, Tripoli - then & now

    I will be in Tripoli for the next few days - and assume that I may have some spare time. I could probably take some "then & now" photos if somebody would want me to do so. Such means that if you have any photo of Tripoli... post it here or send it to me so that I could take it gain...

    I'm having trouble posting pictures at the moment, but the victory parade with Churchill or Rommels arrival in Tripoli would make good subjects. (I'm loving the book btw)

    Indeed, that would be a good subject.
    I recall that the IWM had quite some photos of this parade - will use them...

    Have a great trip Kuno-Great to see you are going back to Libya and I hope it's changed for the better since your last stay.

    Sorry for late reply - I could not access the forum from Tripoli.... and therefore have not seen the pics above. Some of them can easily be taken as "then & now" but most of the buildings shown do not exist any more today.

    I have also been at the CWGC to take some photos of headstones for another member of this forum - the good news is: The cemetery is not damaged or even disturbed but very well maintained as it always was.

    Thats good to hear after all the bad media- How was your trip? Glad to have gone back?

    After the Battle's new book may have some of these pics covered. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure someone on here will have.
