As it is for a regimental exhibition it may be worth while asking the guys at TWGPP if they will waive their £3 fee.

Major Wheate Barnett came from Glympton, Oxfordshire, where his ancestors had been lords of the manor since 1633. In Glympton parish church there is a plain stone wall plaque inscribed with his dates of birth and death and the facts that he served with the 60th Rifles and died of wounds at Dunkirk.

I'm sure someone told me last year he died down by the Mole (east side) of his wounds.

Hello, In the archives of the British military cemetery at Château Coquelle in Rosendaël, near Dunkirk, linked to the presence of the 12th CCS during Operation Dynamo. I found the mention of the grave of Major FHW Barnett, who died of wounds on June 2, 1940 from the 60th Rifles (KRRC). Would you have more information about him?

    Hi

According to Swift and Bold by Hereward Wake, Major F H W Barnett was GSO2 at 46th Inf Div and died of wounds at Dunkirk.

    Hope this helps
