    Hi,
I am trying to find some more pictures of Major Leslie Sugden Clayton Royal Engineers. I have one picture of him, but I am looking for pictures of him awarded his medals if that is possible ? He was awarded the M C in 1944 D-Day.
Also any other information on him is also helpful.
    Thank you

    Citation:
"At 0730 hrs on 6 June 1944 on the beaches in front of LA RIVIERE Major Clayton landed from the leading L.C.T. in th assault on the coast of FRANCE with his Company.
The Sappers he commanded had to land unsupported by any immediate covering fire except that given by the few accompanying "FLAIL"Churchill Tanks. The "DD" Tanks which were to support them had been prevented by weather from getting ashore to time. The Sapper obstacle removal parties were met by fierce fire from enemy S.A.A. and 88 m.m. In face of his opposition Major CLAYTON by his example of entire disregard of danger so inspired his officers and men that in spite of heavy casualties they continued unconcernedly to demolish and tow away the obstacles, which have prevented a successful landing of the LCT's by the NAVY, as if an exercise until driven inland by the rising tide."
Originally recommended by a VC, downgraded to a DSO and further downgraded to a MC.
