    Hello all,

Can anyone tell me about a british WW2 parachute denoted as a mark K?

    Kind regards

Hello Dan, please could you let me know the context in which you've seen (or heard) the Mk K parachute referred to?

    Jim,

I picked one up at a sale the other month. It had a label on the inside with contract SB22822 C34a Type K on the inside.

Thanks and hope you can help?

    Thanks

    Dan

A well done to Cee for coming up with something!

I found nothing with said serial number Dan (checked RAF Airborne Forces Manual Official Air Publications 1942 - 1946 and came up with nowt)

If possible please put up a photograph (including the identification patch showing the serial number and type designation) and hopefully your 'chute can be identified with certainty.

Up to now Cee has given the best answer.

I'm stumped. Any chance of seeing the entire piece?

    Regards ...

I wouldn't have thought you could drop a useful amount of stores under that.

    Some sort of drogue parachute?

Good morning chaps. Try a search on the words "Parachute and Cable British anti-aircraft project 1940s". Possibly a 'chute from one of these contraptions, maybe?

Not the best images but Dan's 'chute may be the size for this sort of malarkey, and a rarity I would guess.

And all credit to redtop for getting the word "drogue" into the conversation.
