    Hi,

I was wondering if one of you RA sages might be able to tell me how long after the end of WW2 the artillery continued to use towed guns as opposed to self propelled. Any suggested reads?

My detailed knowledge ends about 1990 but I am fairly sure that towed artillery has been in service continuously and some is still operational. The 155mm howitzer is certainly still in service.

    Hello Chris,

Just off the top of my head these have been in use since 1945: 25 pounder, 5.5 inch, 155mm FH70, 105 mm Pack Howitzer and 105mm Light Gun.

The 105mm Light gun is still in service with 3 RHA, 4 Regt RA, 7 RHA and 29 Cdo Regt RA.
