Should probably have gone in postwar, but here's where the machinery nerds live. Anybody got any recommendation on Merkava books, and/or it's 'designer' (lead dev), Gen. Israel Tal. Found Patrick Wright's 'Tank' good on him, and Ogorkiewicz touches on it in a decent manner, but wondered if there might be anything more solid out there that's particularly impressed? Nice article that machine translates pretty well: Google Translate']December 16, 2020: The Chariot Tank Mark 1 - Admittedly this was a breakthrough - the musings
Haven't come across anything on Tal himself, unfortunately, but I was satisfied with Gelbart's book on the tank.
Jesus. Looks like I missed that one. Not... errm, cheap or easy to find, is it. Added to the auto-search lists. Fingers crossed. Cheers.
Not sure what it's going for now, but be aware before dropping a large amount that the text is printed in both English and German on each page, and it's only ~170pp. Still, the best book on solely the Merkava that I've come across, at least.

Using an Israeli Sho't Kal/Centurion. The chassis was reversed and the turret mounted over what had been the drivers cab." I mean... 'blue sky thinking'... I really do need some better reference on Tal & his mucking about.
