    Having said that, I knew several Police motorcylists when I was a Traffic Officer, and they would have paid to ride the bikes!:D

    It looks a bit underpaid to me, thats a lot of work there.

    Notice the bit about Victory coming under the RN Museum - a while back they said that was undecided!

    HMS Victory is not part of the Fleet? Or was that some sort of myth?

    shes still flying the white ensign, or at least she was last saturday when i was last on her. The MOD have floated the idea recently of handing over Victory's management to another agency as a cost-cutting measure. It met with a lot of opposition, and was quietly dropped. Wouldn't put it past them to do it sea-skimming under the radar style though.

    Well it might not be that far-fetched :unsure:

    In todays Portsmouth Evening News there is a story about them carrying out a casualty evacuation exercise on the old girl herself... wonder if she's going to be pressed into service again? She's already in commission so no need to splash out on the usual hob-nobbing ceremony... she might be ideal for countering pirates in the Indian Ocean!

    St Aidan’s Church, Gravesend, Kent: Project Manager (£24,000 p/r, 16 hpw, 2 y/c, starting 2nd August 2010) to work on the HLF-funded ‘Gravesend 1940s Games & Planes Project’, recruiting & training volunteers to record & archive in various formats the memories of people who lived & worked in Westcourt & the Riverview airfield in the 1940s.
