A comment by 52nd on the Oosterbeek Museum threads gets me thinking about museum shops. Often in more shiny museums they're a dead loss after a stroll round has got you fired up to spend some cash on related purchases, that hopefully will also feed into the upkeep of the collection. 'Enthusiast run' museums seem to often have a so much more interesting selection of stuff on sale; For instance the Shropshire Regimental Museum in Shrewsbury sells secondhand books, and the Midland Air Museum always has a rather 'car-boot' but worthwhile heap of stuff. Any really decent one's people have visited? Or particularly weak one's? Bovington's is always pretty good... If you like expensive books about tanks . Cheers, Adam.
Its a bit out of the way but worth a visit if your ever down that way Royal Signals Museum - British Army Website The last time I was there it was in past to present day order with loads of scenarios from WW1 through WW2 and the latest one when I was LAST there was GW1. No doubt they will have Bowman and GW2 stuff in there now. Lots of Medals too and a good shop. Museum Shop
The Para's museum has an excellent shop and to make things even better, their stock is available online!
The Para's museum has an excellent shop and to make things even better, their stock is available online! I had difficulty finding their website, but did stumble onto this rather interesting news that the Para Museum's apparently moving Lock, stock & Barrel to Duxford? : Airborne Assault – Duxford Actually, that's probably worth a thread on it's own. Edit: Started one here.
