Centred on 49th Bty, 48th LAA Regiment but also looks in general at the Allied forces in Java

So Knight's A13 book has published, a must for me.

I've picked up some documentary evidence that shows that the Bishop, far from being the ungainly joke of yore, was actually quite a gnarly and impressive fighting machine, and could go toe-to-toe with enemy panzers.

    Now that sounds interesting!

Well I'd think that some Italian armour would certainly be vulnerable but the Bishop was intended as an SPG and not meant to go toe to toe with enemy armour

Well, I don't know very much about Briitish tanks or SPG's, so I shall go with your advice.

If I'm not mistaken it's more of a booklet.

Say: has no one written a proper book on the kangaroo?

Actually it's out of print through Service. I tried ordering through them first and was told it's no longer available. I found my copy through a reseller on Amazon.co.uk. Copies show up sometimes but nothing is listened on bookfinder at the moment.

You can download The Kangaroos in Battle, a short history of the 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment for free here:

    Another article for free here:

Page 72 of "CANADA’S CRAFTSMEN AT 50!The Story of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in the Canadian Armed Forces" looks at the construction of Kangaroos in the field.

I don't feel quite so smug now as I had to pay postage on top of a fiver for Spearheading D-Day!

    ..and I bet postage wasn't cheap.....rather a heavyweight tome.

Obviously my Karma still needs a bit of work...just discovered a bl**dy, loose crown. Serves me right for being smug!

Considering some of the traditional punishments for hubris you're getting off lightly

Well, I am rewarding myself for things done this week by ordering a copy of Mark Hayward's historical/modeling book on the Sherman Firefly :)
