    Two snippets found today:
    From: Private Papers of T J Brown

    Note the below two summaries refer more to their time as POW and I will not be seeking access.

    A second document has:
    From: Private Papers of R W Pye

    Secondly: The 2/5th Essex had landed at Suez, after their voyage from the UK via South Africa, and were due to be posted to Iraq in mid-December 1941. Auchinleck agreed to them going to Iraq on 3/12/1941. From: Pgs. 239-240 in ‘The Military Papers of Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck, Volume 1: 1940-42’.
