My Grandad's Army Pay Book

    Hello everyone

    Thought this might be of interest to someone out there, I've attached scans of my Grandad's Army Pay Book. He joined the West Yorkshire Regiment before transferring to the 2nd Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment.

    If anyone can shed any light on any of the Army abbreviations I'd appreciate it.

    I note that on one of the pages 'Far East' has been written, I'm presuming that may have meant that the Regiment was destined for maybe the Pacific Theatre of War?
