Far from ready, probably have months of work for new updates :p I have decided to put it on line for people to have a look at it, please have a look and let me know: Royal Artillery Units Netherlands 1944-1945 - Introduction Cheers Philip
Nice one. Very slickly done Philip, looks like you really have set yourself a big task but it'll be well worth it in the end. Good luck, Adam.
Hi Phillip - Sadly I already have one addition for your RA site. My Dad's unit were 102 LAA Regiment (1 Corp Troops) and arrived in Breda on 10 November 1944 via Belgium. They fought briefly as adhoc infantry (Bobforce) alongside 62 Anti-Tank Regiment under command 49 Infantry Division. 336 Battery continued to use the Self Propelled Bofors after 10/11/44, but 337 and 338 Batteries were retrained as Counter bombardment troops (still part of 102 LAA Regiment) and used the Land Mattress Rocket Launchers alongside the 1st Canadian Rocket Battery. They briefly went back to using the Bofors when the Luftwaffe launched the brief offensive at the beginning on 1945. If you need any other info on this unit, I've done a fair bit of research. Regards - Robert PS the picture on the side is my Dad.
Hi again Phillip - I'm adding to your workload already. Another LAA Regiment I've got to add to your site. It is 92 LAA Regiment (3rd Infantry Division Troops). I've been corresponding on and off with a son of a Gunner who served in this unit and he has compiled an excellent site of their history. You can see it at index . I'm sure he won't mind if I give it a plug. Regards again - Robert
Hi Robert All new information and documentation would be most welcome Robert, as said far from ready any still many units to go, I welcome all help.
Just put gravestone No.800 on the site, some 100 to go and then I have for all I know all the RA/CRA graves in the netherlands, less the US airborne ones and the British Airbornes RA
