Me and my grandfather were talking recently and somehow the topic of airplanes and building models came up. He told me about building them when he was a kid (his older brother was in the Navy during WWII). On Memorial Day I went to a family barbecue and he had 2 presents for me... they are pictured here with the Dakota I just purchased... I'm about halfway done the WWI Fokker, and it's a lot of fun but rather difficult.
Yea, I have definitely found my new favorite hobby. Once I finish these three over the course of the summer I think I'll stop for a bit and take up shelf-making to hold all these
That is nice PJNC. Remember seeing the real thing when I was little at a Farnborough Air Show, we used to go rather alot.
Definitely my favourite plane as a kid, the old man's got a plane-spotter mate who said even though it's movements were supposed to be top secret there'd always be dozens of anoraks along the perimeter wire taking pictures every time it touched down in the UK. Was staring at the finish, glad to hear it was sprayed and not applied with some sort of magic brush.
What makes me laugh is your choice of kits. One is the SR-71, so what's next the Fokker DR-1? One extreme to another.
