Hi all, This is a bit of a puzzler. In a recent Tank Chats video on the Archer, the tank museum used a video clip (of unknown origin; I sent an email and the fellow who put it together doesn't remember where he got it) which appears to be an Archer doing some demonstration driving. Intriguingly the vehicle shows a number of markings and I recognize almost NONE of them. There is cross-on-shield and an AoS marker with a white section/stripe at the bottom, which at least means army level. The number is 355 and on a two-tone background split vertically, darker above something of a middle tone. I think that if this was a vehicle in Italy the 8 Army cross would be yellow and the contrast would be higher in the video? However, what we can see of the area around the vehicle does look a bit mountainous or at least quite barren. And there is no sign of an Allied star; maybe a red/white/red marking on the side. I think the serial number on the Archer is relatively late which might mean this is a video from after VE Day. Also the use of names on Archers was uncommon and late. This one seems to be named FURIOUS. Then there is a square with an overlaid triangle. I've never seen that. And finally we have some sort of prancing stag or similar in the middle, which I can't find in my Warpaint books. Anyone have ideas? The video is here: and the clip is used at 0:55, 2:30, 4:10, and 4:18.
