I have taken the dangerous approach of not having a clue.
I know where it is, but not exactly what.

    Ah.
    Descendant of this.

I now know what it does.
Though I still don't know what it is.

I'll throw a guess mainly to bump the thread. Is it an airport firetruck of some type?

The early soft cover Hunnicut reprints appeared to be printed to order on disappointingly low quality paper.

That's the old "pulled off the ranges" cage. It is a BARV.

You're right about the Nissan. Love COEs. No more heavy duty ones being made over here.

I ass-u-med the water cannon truck was a one off probably based on a US REO M35, no? Based on wheels and big front differential.

No the water cannon was an East German VEB G5 truck. The truck has been described as the workhorse of the NVA at one time. I am pretty sure it was not a one off conversion to water cannon. It does owe somewhat to the GMC CCKW, but doubtful about the later M35.

That's what happens when one assumes. :)

    Ker-ching.

Seemed like a really interesting vehicle, (once I'd worked out what it was ).
Vomag wartime design basis hoovered up by the Sovs & produced for a pretty short period.

Makes me wonder if we need a water cannon thread.
