    Yes TD needed it as the burial register showed no naval connection

    Would it be correct to assume (as in the case of John Feeley) that where no ship or establishment is shown on the CWGC entry that the deceased had been discharged from the Navy prior to his death? Particularly so when there does not appear to be an entry in the RN Register of Seaman Deaths. In which case does the cause of death have to relate to his Service time?

    Hello Tim

    Yes that appears to be the rule of thumb here. The cause of death would have had to relate to his service in the RN before acceptance by CWGC. Do not know the circumstances on this one as it is a very old acceptance.

    My father Stanley Cooper was at Wharncliffe during WW2 initially as a patient and later on staff as a rehabilitation instructor, leaving as a sgt. in 1946.
