    Hello to all.

My name is Peter Keen I'm 30 YO and I have tried for 5 years to gather research on my grandfather who served in the second world war. He gave his medals away to a friend of his as he did not want to be reminded of the part he played in the war.

His name was Timothy (Tim) Turner, from derbyshire, england. He served in Egypt most of the war he was in class W (T) T.A.R of I think the 4th Holding BN R signals. He enlisted in 1938 and was discharged in 1945. I knew that he drove thrashers.

I looked and researched on all of the armed forces sites and also ancestry but no luck. Does anyone know what medals he would have acheived or better yet does anyone on here with grandparents or parents that served in egypt during this time. (Im getting a little despirate now)

Does any one have any ideas of what I can do next I have considered going to the national archives in surrey but have never got their yet. :poppy:
