Need help with dads WW2 service record 53rd Welsh div

    Anne, I just noticed this thread. My father Robert (Bob) Langlands May have served with your father. In his gun crew were Ken, Hans and Ginger. Amongst his photos is also the id disc of Ken Roberts who I believe may have been killed in action.
    Does this ring any bells?

  2. Hello Gordon thank you for your message, sorry for delay in replying, my dad was frustrated because he couldn't remember his fellow battery members names except for a sergeant Roberts. I think there is a good chance he could have served with your father, I doubt there would be 2 sergeant Roberts in charge of 17pounders. I only stumbled on your message last evening it was the first time I have been back on here for 4yrs due to illness. Have you seen your father's service record? in his photo's did he have any of his battery mates? Regards Anne

    Anne,
    I don’t have my fathers war record however I have an album of photos I can share with you.
    Will try and upload some of them.

    Here is my dad.
    He started off in the Royal Artillery and was in Plymouth area for training and Coastal Defence.

  11. Thanks for sharing your photo's, your dad looks like a nice man,lovely smile. My dad was in the Royal Artillery and was in the RUR trained in Northern Ireland.
