    Lots happened in Cheshire at least in part due to its proximity to the Liverpool docks - there is a thread somewhere on the Forum about tanks being received by the trainload and prepared for the D Day Landings.

    Although nowhere near as well protected as many areas down south, Cheshire had significant AA defenses related to war production, chemicals, and towards the north, the docks at Liverpool and Manchester
