I am a at a loss what the lists might contain about a person?

I have a name and DoB. I know where the person lived in UK from info contained in the 'Dunera' and Hay Camp Archives, Australia.

Has anyone received information following a supplied name?

Anyone wishing to order a file from the 'Enemy Aliens Interned. See their reply below.

Thank you for contacting The National Archives with your request for an estimate for the cost of copies of records.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimate at present because the documents you requested are in use. This may mean they are out on loan to a government department, or being used by a staff member, reader or project here at TNA. Where possible we will borrow such items to complete an estimate, but on this occasion we cannot do so.

As a result, we have closed your current request for an estimate from the record copying section. You may wish to submit a new request in the future; we would recommend waiting at least 1 month for the document to be returned. Please contact us if you require further explanation or information.

And as from next month TNA are charging an upfront fee of £8.95, or something like that, for a copy estimate.

Third time lucky to post a reply to add to my last!

I also asked for the surname 'F' for exempt Internees. (HO 396)
. I received a 199 Mb Microfile as a PDF free of charge.

At 199 Mb I was hoping to get A-Z of all names, which would have been useful for later! Yes, the person I sought was listed under 'F'.

I know it can be argued that they have overheads to cover, but it seems to me as if they really don't want the business. Thank goodness for folks like yourself Lee. ;)

Often get that impression myself Di, a guess their overheads are rather large though.

I should point out they are dropping their copy price to £1.10 per page or there abouts for both paper and digital copies.
