    Good stuff, thanks for posting!

After having looked through them all, the only dissapointment is no labels explaining where each photo is...I could only recognise a handful of them.

blacksnake As old as I feel.

Thanks for posting (yes, many have been posted before) still, always a joy to see them again :)

If you read the comments at the end, the original photographer Patrick Elie doesn't seem to pleased his photos have been used without permission. All too often I've seen websites and posts (not on ww2talk) were a person claims to do the "Now & Then" theme without gettin off their ass and taking a single photograph themselves. Have a look around the forum, you'll find many members (myself included) have taken the trouble to take our own photos (most with excellent results) :D

Andy, you don't have to join.

Some very well composed then and now comparisons.

Some of the places I recognise include:
    Caen
    Bernieres-sur-Mer
    Courseules-sur-Mer
    Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer
    Ouistreham
    Longues-sur-Mer
    Saint-Mere-Eglise
    Pointe du Hoc
    Omaha Beach (Dog Green sector)

The sixth comparison is interesting to me as it shows bomb/shell damage to what is now the Holiday Inn hotel, in Caen. I've stayed in this hotel on a number of occassions, once even staying in one of the rooms that can be seen destroyed in the 1944 photo !

    John,
I stayed in the same Caen hotel 2 years ago and my room also was not in great shape in 1944. Very interesting pics.

I can see them now. I think these pictures are doing the rounds as it's not the first time I've seen them all on the net. I've seen them on a Spanish site and on a French site with address's.
