Have you contacted the SRY at Carlton per my previous post? They may be able to give you more clues. I will also be meeting up with them in Normandy in June if all goes to plan so could easily ask a few questions on your behalf.

Captain Rev Skinner states that it was the 25th June 1944, casualties appear to be all from B Squadron.
    Captain Thomas C
    Captain Mc William
    Tpr Hayward
    Tpr Ayres
    Tpr Farragh KIA
    Tpr Green KIA

The entry lacks its usual detail as Rev Skinner was also wounded. He received a shrapnel wound to the head. The shrapnel passed through his cap badge on his beret, the MO told him the badge had probably saved his life.

SDP, I have not yet as I wanted to have as much information as possible before contacting them for any final details (or photos) they my have (Im hoping despite how obviously unlikely it is to get to the level of detail that I can make a very accurate model for my Great Uncle down to the tank identification number if possible).

Guy, you may have just helped me out no end as I am looking for S. R. Hayward. Though I was under the impression he was wounded on the 26th and that everyone else in the tank was KIA. Am I wrong in thinking that a sherman had 4/5 crew (Commander, gunner, loader, driver and co-driver/machinegunner)? Mmm.... more questions. I will check out the links you posted as well. Thanks a lot.
