I was wondering if soldier's who fought during ww2 would have signed an oath of allegiance to the king. If so are these available anywhere or were the kept by the soldier.

In respect of regular service personnel it is covered by the form of words sworn on oath before a Magistrate and recorded on the attestation paper.

If I remember correctly wartime conscripts weren’t required to make an oath as they were called up by Act of Parliament.

Examples of both will be in the various records posted in the service record sub forum. Regular attestation attached from a recent topic.
