I don't know why I never searched for "anti-tank regiment" in a big library website in the UK.

"A Share of Time", Don Low, 1996. By the filing at the National Library of Scotland, he was in 72nd Anti-Tank Regiment in/supporting 6th Armoured Div.

A history of 61st Anti-Tank Regiment published in Rothesay in 1946(?).

"Mars and Venus : the memories of a gunner 210 Battery (Worcestershire Yeomanry) 53rd Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery Territorial Army : 1937-1943"
by Jack Creed with Robin Bird.

    Chris,

There is a place called Rothsay in Minnesota, USA. The 61 AT Regiment is more likely to be published in Rothesay, the town on the Isle of Bute, in the Firth of Clyde.

Plus as that ever helpful site states it's first posting was:
    and became:
The 61 AT were a duplicate "spun off" from:51 (West Highland) Anti-Tank Regiment RA (TA) - The Royal Artillery 1939-45 and 61 Anti-Tank Regiment RA (TA) - The Royal Artillery 1939-45

I don't know if ANYONE else will be interested but I found two copies of Jack Creeds' book for sale online and ordered one. I've sent an email to the National Library of Scotland - I'm already planning a trip to Scotland, Northumberland, and Yorkshire this year, so I guess I will have to budget for a day in the library!

Given that Creed's unit shot up Sepp Dietrich and his Adjutant - Joachim Peiper - putting the Leibstandarte into a "red mist" presuming them dead, and led to the massacre of the Royal Warwicks at Wormhoudt, could be an interesting read..

Mars and Venus arrived today - it's a small booklet. He in the regiment in 1939-40, saw action in France, and released in 1943. It looks, as you say, like the regiment was in the area of Wormhout - there's a section about the fighting there, and one about the massacre.

Well... it's really not well written, not a terrible amount of research done, and not terribly interesting. Can't recommend it.

The Don Low book seems to be about as rare as hens' teeth. Nothing on Abebooks.

Lt Donald George Alexander Low, RA, (174684) was a gunner with the 72nd Anti-Tank Regiment RA, and was awarded the MC for his actions during the Battle of Sedjenane, Tunisia on March 3-4th 1943.

This bookseller once had a copy (at £31.99!) and provides this summary of its contents:

A Share of Time, by Donald Low MC

If anyone has got a copy to hand, I'd be keen to know how much space and detail he gives to the Battle of Sedjenane, which I have been researching in depth for a long while.

    Bookseller's summary:

A Share of Time, by Donald Low MC

Published by J&KH Publishing in 1996. 157 pages. Paperback (S6777WSOU3)

In this book the author writes about his experiences in North Africa and Italy during the Second World War, and it is a compelling account. Chapters include:
    • November 1942
    • December 1942
    • Tebourba
    • Medjez el Bab
    • Ouseltia and Bou Arada
    • Robaa and Kasserine
    • Sedjenane
    • AFondouk
    • Djebel Kournine
    • Medjez and beyond
    • Intermezzo
    • Cassino - Diadem
    • Melfa to Perugia
    • 327 Battery and Villa Gattaia
    • The Mountains and Christmas 1944

The author, Donald Low, volunteered for the Royal Artillery upon the outbreak of the Second World War, and was commissioned as a Field Gunner in 1941. He joined the 72nd Anti-Tank Regiment RA and was sent to North Africa with the 6th Armoured Division in November 1942, seeing active service throughout the Tunisian campaign. After North Africa the Division was sent to Italy where Donald again took part in several battles.
