These pics were amongst the papers of Thomas Nicholson Watson, the Bombadier (4th left) in the picture above.

    Are they 463 Squadron too?

    Hi David,
Not 463 squadron, they are 61 & 50 squadron - they have press release details on the back so not sure if it was a photoshoot of a couple of high op's aircraft - Watson and the crew were with 61 squadron for a short time (one of the airgunners in the crew of JO-D also had the same pics) - from his log (and teh airgunners) I dont think they actually flew on this one. These two are ED-588 & ED-860 from the notes I have.

If anyone can add any details on JO-D I would love to know them, I have gather quite a bit of info but am always interested in more.

The B. of B. flight Lancaster in 1995 as far as I can recall , on a visit to Aldergrove.
I am grateful to a Sgt from the ground crew who allowed me inside the perimeter to take these photos.

When you look at her an undetected attack by a nightfighter armed with cannons would cut her to ribbons.

    Last one, J.Walker !

    Good stuff.
On the 'Johnny Walker' nose art - 4th row of bomb markings down - there's what looks like a broom or mop.
Can I ask the aerially fixated; what does that denote?
    Clean sweep?
    Washout?

    Adam,

I was about to ask the same question.

It occurres after the 32 mission. If that is significant.

Super photographs of a super aeroplane.

I know they used to put ice cream cones for Italian targets but not sure what that means.
