My father, Lt. James R. Smith, was radar observer aboard the P-61 called Jing-Bow Joy-Ride. With pilot Carl Absmeier, he was part of a high-scoring team for the 426th NFS, with two air-to-air victories and numerous successful intruder missions. He participated in a hazardous mission to destroy the strategically significant Yellow River Bridge even with orders to return Stateside in his pocket. He left a very detailed memoir with information about all of these exploits. This is now posted in its entirety at www.nightfighter.info. I would welcome anyone interested in the CBI, the Forgotten Theater, to visit us. We won't forget our heroic airmen! Thanks to all!

And thanks for your father's service to his country in time of war.
