Took this photograph of the St Helens Church graves when visiting the area in December last year Probably among the intake who filled the shortfall of pilots which became apparent following the outbreak of the Korean conflict. Every grave can tell a story.I do not know if this was a service function death or not but have been unsuccessful to ascertain the cause so far. Another grave comes to mind is that of a former PRU pilot ex F/Lt Roy Kenwright MBE DFC who served at Benson from 1943 and died aged 90 years in 2012.

Thanks TD I see a kinsman,David, has left a note on P/O's Trentham's "Find a Grave Memorial" P/O Trentham's service number appears to be his induction aircraftsman number 3134407......I know that batch well, it was applied to former ATC cadets inducted into NS at Padgate during the period Jan 1951 to June 1953.
Thanks Ross....was he flying a Meteor V? Yes the Meteor Meatbox took its toll of the unwary and unfortunate. Clive...just checked the photographs of the day and I have taken the whole of the military graves......had to pair down P/O Trentham's grave photograph to get it below 2 MBs .... bit of a guessing job as the resize software is in pixels.
