Regards, Nick Nick, Here are the details you are after: Veterans Agency Norcross, Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire FY5 3WP Tel: 0800 169 2277 email: help@veteransagency.gsi.gov.uk Web: Veterans-UK.info
I have my Father's RAF service record, liberation questionaire and Red Cross details but if there is more info. available then any help would be much appreciated. From this thread l am led to believe that there may be more information available as put together by the holding authority, German POW records. Regards, Nick
I reckon you have most of the information, but you never know. As you have a lot of information, it won't take long for the VA to conclude a search. However, there is a chance the VA might not have his records, as some were destroyed by looting prisoners when they were liberated. Good Luck!
In my father's case the Veterans Agency send me information from the German records that did not add up to much. If you need the address for the I.R.C. I include it below. International Committee Of The Red Cross, 19 Avenue de la Paix, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland.
Thanks David, they provided basic details. Camps and dates but no more. Did you have more luck. Regards, Nick
