Was there ever an I instruction issued from Royal Engineers HQ with regards to painting BD vehicles, such as Redwings , RE markings and colour of Khaki green.
    Thanks

ACI 279 1st Feb 1942 can be found at The National Archives in WO 32/11617 - GENERAL AND WARLIKE STORES: Vehicles (Code 45(F)): History of vehicle marking during war (1939-1945)

For some reason I thought they had red wings before 1942. The BD badge on sleeves came in around Spring 1941, so in some photos, admittedly poor quality, there appears to be no sleeve badges but a different shade of paint on the wings. Anyone want to comment?

Anybody know of a colour photo taken in the war of a BD vehicle?
