Anyone know how many of the original members of the Army Commandos and The Parachute Regiment were pre-War regulars/Territorials.
Were they more likely to Volunteer for these units than the conscripted men?
I'd imagine they were but anyone have any hard facts and figures?

Owen I think it varies from unit to unit. For example 10 Para was largely formed from Royal Sussex Regiment men, when several battalions of that regiment were disbanded after the ME Campaign. It's losses at Arnhem show that many of its dead were pre-war Royal Sussex men.
