My father served with the 66 artisan
works company RE. Reading through his service record I came
    across some confusing entries.

    Entry 1
"passed TT and reclfd pnr RE gp D II
handyman trade carp & joiner gp B
    Date -- 1/8/44 Place-- UK.

    Entry2
Embarked on the 17/6/44 for NWE

The handwriting is clearly readable for a change. Beside the dates being
out of sequnce, why would they send
someone back to the UK to attend a trade course?

I suppose the date 1/8/44 could be wrong.

But I can also picture The CSM saying, "This is the british army boy!
pack your kit and don't be late back!

    Regards Jim
